How I work
Hiring someone to build your website is a bit frightening, and reasonably so. So here's the whole process, with timings and with what's expected from you at each step.
Step by step
Six steps and no black boxes.
The first conversation
Day 1 · free · no strings
Half an hour, by phone, video or in person if you're in Palma. You tell me what you do, who your customer is and what isn't working. I ask a lot and sell nothing.
Analysis of what's there
48–72 h · free
I look at your current site, your Google listing, what your customers search for and what the three or four companies you compete with are doing. I send you what I see in writing, even if you decide not to continue.
Fixed proposal
Within 2–3 days
A map of pages or screens, what each one carries, what I need from you, the total price and the delivery date. A document you can read in five minutes.
Design and copy
Week 1–2
I start with the home page: that's where the tone of everything else gets decided. Once it convinces you, the rest goes quickly. I write the copy and you review it.
Build, SEO and testing
Week 2–3
Built with hand-written code, speed tuned, structured data and sitemap in, then tested on mobile, tablet, desktop and by keyboard.
Launch and handover
Week 3–4
We publish on the day you choose, I register the site in Search Console, hand over every login and show you your panel in one session.
Afterwards
What happens once it's live.
A first month of tweaks
The small changes that always appear once you see the site in real life are included, with no argument about whether they were in the quote.
Data, not opinions
At three months I tell you which searches are bringing people in and which pages aren't working — from Search Console data, not from my impressions.
I'm still here
I have clients from more than two years ago. I'm not trying to close quotes: I'm trying to have the business I work with grow and still be there.
What I need from you
Three things, none of them technical.
- An hour of your time at the start. Explaining your business properly saves two weeks later.
- Photos, logo and details. Whatever you have. If you have none, we'll sort it — just tell me early.
- An answer when I ask. The only reason a project drags on is reviews sitting unanswered.
The rest is mine: writing, designing, building, optimising and launching. You don't need to understand domains, DNS or hosting — in fact, if you end up needing to, I've done it badly.
Tell me what's going wrong.
I'll look at your site and your competitors on Google and tell you what I'd do and what it would cost. Free. If it doesn't fit, you keep the analysis and that's that.
